Nancy Bennett – McKenzie's Mom & Voluntold Staff
Nancy is McKenzie's extremely proud Optician Mom and our beloved "Voluntold" staff member! She brings warmth, humor, and a genuine care for customers to Capital Eyes Optical.
Nancy works in the shop on Mondays and is often the friendly voice you'll hear on the phone. She's the first to admit she knows nothing about repairing glasses, but she's fantastic at helping you pick out frames and encouraging you to try something outside the box!

Works with two dog rescue groups: Miniature Schnauzer Rescue Northwest and Seattle Purebred Dog Rescue- Collects barns and loves antiques
- Taught McKenzie tons of DIY skills through house remodeling and building the family cabin

McKenzie Bennett – Licensed Optician & Master of Frames and Eyewear
At the center of Capital Eyes Optical is McKenzie, a licensed optician with years of industry expertise and a true passion for helping people. McKenzie's journey in optics began in 2008, and she became the proud owner of Capital Eyes Optical, continuing the tradition of providing better, more personal optical services than what's found in most chain stores.
Licensed in 2013, McKenzie is American Board of Opticianry Certified (ABOC), National Contact Lens Examiners Certified (NCLEC), and holds an Associates of Applied Science in Geometric & Ophthalmic Optics (Opticianry). Her hands-on approach ensures every pair of glasses receives the utmost care and attention.
Fun Things About McKenzie:
- Owns 50+ pairs of prescription glasses and 300+ pairs of antique glasses
- In the optical industry since 2008, licensed since 2013
- Loves to camp and kayak, and would like to travel more
- Bing is her third Schnauzer - the family has had more than three Schnauzers at any given time, once hosting 16 at the house for a holiday!
- Active in her Church and a proud member of the Lions Club
